Lord of the Rings

I did get the paints out but to be honest it was a bit of a disaster. My new paper shows promise I just need to get used to the texture and how the paint reacts. It was only a quick painting of tulips and one I will attempt again. 12 hours with the pencil was much more successful. Again I wanted to do a portrait but wanted challenge myself further than I previously had. It was fun for most of the time but the last few hours did feel like a battle perhaps due to the A3 size. It have a few tweeks here and there but I need a break from it for now.

  3. Paul, This is amazing. I can't believe how quickly you've come along with pencil/graphite. I shouldn't say that because although I always did drawings my first 'serious' graphite is 'Sophistication' '03.
It can be seen on JWJ artist showcase.. I'ts still my personal favorite.. Sometimes it comes together so easily .. .. Keep going , you will only get better and I'm looking forward to them.
Painting? yes, very different than drawing. I still struggle with painting, but it's worth it.and thank you for all your kind comments on my blog.. I appreciate every one. . BJ

  4. Paul, your portrait skills are amazing! I love the composition and the expression on the mans face-not sure of the actors name, but you got the likeness down. I will be back to see your watercolors!:) Celia

  6. A brilliant drawing Paul, and I'm staggered at your progress. Don't put the pencils down for too long. ;-)

bellissimi! Gli occhi e gli sguardi rendono benissimo le sensazioni dell'uomo e del cavallo e le loro personalità sembrano davvero forti!
